Richie arrived at the VYCE National Golf Club on a crisp morning, ready to take on its 6,571-yard challenge. He had heard tales of its tough greens and rolling fairways and was determined to conquer them.

The round started a bit shaky. On the 1st hole, Richie’s drive found the beach—not the sunny kind, but the deep fairway bunker. After battling his way out, he walked off with a bogey 6, but he wasn’t discouraged—the day was still young.

By the 6th hole, Richie’s game came alive. With 215 yards to the pin, he pulled out his trusty 3-iron. The
swing was perfect, and the ball soared, taking three bounces before clinking into the cup for an eagle. He
was on a roll. Then, at the picturesque par-3 8th hole, his smooth 9-iron shot launched against the blue sky,
landed gently, and rolled straight into the hole for a hole-in-one! The cheers from his group echoed as Richie
soaked in the moment, closing the front nine with a solid 35.

However, the back nine proved tougher. On the 10th hole, perhaps distracted by a snack at the turn or still
riding the high of his earlier successes, Richie’s game slipped. He airmailed the green and took his time
recovering, ending with a frustrating double bogey 8. By the 16th, he found himself in a bunker with a fried
egg lie, struggling to escape with just a bogey.
Determined to finish strong, Richie stepped up to the 18th tee and crushed his drive down the middle. A
solid iron shot followed, and he drained a tricky birdie putt to finish with a 43 on the back nine, totaling 78 for
the day.

As he walked into the 19th Hole with a grin, cocktail in hand, he raised a toast to a day filled with highs, lows,
and memories worth savoring. “To the 19th Hole,” he said, knowing that in golf, it’s all about how you finish.
